Producer Profile

Elkin Guzmán is one of Colombia's most innovative coffee producers and has been pushing the boundaries of specialty coffee for over a decade. He inherited his family's 70-year-old farm, El Mirador, from his mother, Fanny Vargas, and combined that legacy with his background in agricultural engineering from the University of Cauca. His scientific curiosity continues to shape every aspect of his work, from cultivation to post-harvest processing.

Driven by research and experimentation, Elkin has developed groundbreaking fermentation and processing methods that have earned international recognition. Beyond his own farm, he actively shares his knowledge with neighboring producers, believing that coffee growers are not simply suppliers but skilled craftspeople whose expertise deserves greater recognition. His commitment to innovation, education, and long-term sustainability continues to influence the future of specialty coffee in Huila.

Daniela Mesa is a visual artist from Colombia’s Coffee Region. Her strengths are cultural management, muralism, and illustration. Her work highlights the role and work of women, Colombian biodiversity, and the relationship of the body (hands) with the earth and its roots.
