  • Process

This honey-processed coffee is dried for 5–6 days on raised beds, then finished on patios. The result is a cup that balances sweetness and texture with elegant clarity.

  • Variety

A mix of Caturra and Catuai, grown at 1,500–1,650 masl in the lush micro-region of Chirripó. These classic Latin American varieties thrive in this high-altitude, biodiverse environment.

  • Tasting Notes

Juicy and bright with notes of blood orange, white grape, and strawberry. A fruit-forward cup with balanced acidity and a silky, clean finish.

Producer Profile

Finca El Mango is one of several high-altitude plots operated by Café Rivense, a family-run estate founded in 2005 by Régulo Ureña and Isabel Rojas in Costa Rica’s Brunca region. Today, their children, Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, Luis, and Tatiana, help manage the farm and micromill, where all wet and dry processing happens onsite to ensure quality and traceability.

Located near Costa Rica’s highest peak, the Chirripó region boasts a unique microclimate ideal for growing specialty coffee. The Ureña family focuses on honey and natural processes to reduce water use, and their farm practices emphasize sustainability, from shade-grown cultivation to selective fertilizer use. Their commitment to excellence earned them 5th place in Costa Rica’s Cup of Excellence in 2019.
