  • Process

This washed lot undergoes 24 hours of fermentation in wooden tanks, followed by patio drying for 3 to 7 days. The result is a clean cup with layered sweetness and a smooth finish.

  • Variety

A regional blend of Pluma Hidalgo, a mutation of Typica grown widely in southern Mexico. Known for its delicate profile, Pluma offers balance, mild acidity, and subtle fruit character when cultivated with care at high altitudes.

  • Tasting Notes

A comforting and sweet cup with notes of cacao, shortbread cookies, and red berries. Soft and balanced, perfect for everyday drinking with just enough fruit to keep it playful.

Producer Profile

This lot comes from a group of smallholders in San Agustín Loxicha, Sierra Madre Sur, Oaxaca. Each producer farms no more than two hectares, cultivating coffee under shade alongside orange, guava, and tangerine trees. Grown at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 masl, the region’s microclimate and biodiversity contribute to this coffee’s clarity and soft fruit notes.

About the artwork for Kazkara:

This piece is inspired by my love for coffee and the way it has quietly shaped my creative path. Before becoming a full-time artist, I spent years working as a barista, spaces where I first began connecting with people through small, meaningful moments. The red cup represents those comforting rituals, while the vase symbolizes my passion for ceramics and the delicate balance I try to maintain between pottery and painting. The surrounding flowers evoke the feeling of that first sip of coffee, how it gently stirs something within and allows us to bloom.
